Short answer. Commerce Manager shows “Missing size” when a product Meta places in clothing or shoes has no size and is sold in Shops. Add a size written as a word, abbreviation or number (Small, XL, 12, One size), with a space between words and numbers and without the word “size”; if the product is not clothing, give it a correct Google or Facebook product category so the requirement no longer applies.

What Commerce Manager means by “Missing size”
Meta’s product data specification makes size required only for selling in Shops, and only for specific categories including clothing and shoes; the products-not-showing page explains the consequence and the escape: provide a size, and if the product has none, “One size” or similar is acceptable. It also explains why a non-clothing product can be asked for one: Meta uses the Google or Facebook product category you gave, or its own guess when you gave none, to decide what is clothing.
The format rules are in the specification: a word, abbreviation or number, a space between words and numbers, no “size” prefix, up to 200 characters.
Why it happens
- Clothing variants without a size attribute mapped, or with size only in the title.
- A wrong category placing a non-clothing item in apparel.
- No category at all, and Meta guessing clothing from the title.
- Accessories without a size: hats, belts, bags that Meta classifies with clothing.
How to fix it
In Shopify
Name the option Size so the channel and feed apps map it; for one-size items add a Size option with the single value One size, or set the size field in the channel’s product editor.
In WooCommerce
Use a global attribute named Size for variations; our free plugin sends it as g:size. For non-clothing products asked for a size, set a correct product category in your feed tool so the requirement no longer applies.
In a CSV or XML feed
Add a size column for clothing and shoes, one value per variant in Meta’s format, and “One size” for items without sizes. For products wrongly treated as clothing, set the correct google_product_category or fb_product_category.
How long until Commerce Manager clears it
On the next upload with a size, or with a category that removes the requirement.
What FeedRobin does about it
The free feed check raises missing size and colour only when the feed as a whole looks like clothing, as an advisory finding, and maps variant options named for size on connect. Where nobody recorded a size, nobody can; the dashboard says which products those are.
Questions merchants ask
My product has no size. What do I enter?
Meta’s page says you can enter “One size” or similar for products without a size. It clears the requirement honestly.
Why does a mug need a size?
Because Meta decided it was clothing or shoes, either from a wrong category in your feed or from its own guess when you gave none. Set the correct google_product_category or fb_product_category and the requirement disappears.
What format does Meta want for sizes?
Words, abbreviations or numbers, up to 200 characters: US 12 rather than US12, 15 months rather than 15months, XS rather than Size XS.
